Cluster Training: The Athlete's Size and Strength Edge
All sport coaches would like big, strong athletes and most combative athletes want to be big and strong. However, most athletes and coaches run into a problem when training for both size and strength at the same time. The longer an athlete trains; usually they begin to hit a plateau with their current routine. They increase the volume (an increase in sets) or they increase the intensity (percentage of 1 repetition maximum, not perceived muscular discomfort), however they do not do both. Volume training is great for increasing muscle mass, and increasing strength-endurance, however it is not an effective method for stimulating neural (strength) gains.
Muscle mass is generally stimulated by neural gains. The higher the athlete's maximal strength levels, the higher the intensity used in repetition exercises can be used. Another problem coaches and athletes run into with neural training is the rest intervals must be higher in intensity training for recovery of the neural system (CNS).
The problem is in the old saying, a trainee can train hard (intensity) or train long (volume) but cannot do both. Some coaches, such as T-Nation's Chad Waterbury have proposed using a low(er) intensity 75-85% bracket and increasing the volume to accommodate this intensity bracket and a decrease in the rest intervals (i.e. 10 sets of 3 with a 6 repetition maximum, with 60 seconds rest intervals). While this is an excellent method and I am not putting it down, I feel there is a better way to work in a higher intensity bracket (80% to 100%) and utilize sufficient volume to increase both size AND strength!
Generally, novice athletes and trainees can make fantastic gains within the 60-70% intensity bracket, usually working their way to 80%. This 80% threshold rule is that strength generally is stimulated above this percentage and this usually calls for a decrease in sets and an increase in rest intervals. So our method will be working above this 80% threshold in every scenario.
Enter Cluster Training
Cluster training is not a new concept; in fact most Olympic weightlifters use this method without knowing it! Some very well know authors have done much to bring this powerful method to light such as Charles Poliquin, Christian Thibaudeau, and Mike Mahler to name a few. Olympic weightlifters must drop the weight to the ground after each repetition; this is followed by a short pause, and another repetition. Most Olympic weightlifters outside of the super-heavy weight division sport tremendously muscular, athletic physiques to go along with their incredible strength!
Cluster training allows the athlete or trainee to utilize intensity above the 80% threshold rule (generally even higher 85-100%), with sufficient volume to increase both strength and size (i.e. more reps at a higher intensity). However, this method is highly demanding on the central nervous system and is not recommended for beginners or high school freshmen and sophomores. While this is a powerful method, it should only be applied to ONE lift per movement group (horizontal push/pull, vertical push/pull, etc.) or ONE exercise per body part. Another caveat is that this method necessitates excellent spotters. If you do not have at least one good spotter, do not do this method. This is not a method that will be kind to an athlete if their spotter(s) decide to take a nap! Cluster training must also be broken into, not jumped into. I show will a progressive model to breaking into cluster training and moving into more advanced methods. Coach Thibaudeau breaks them into levels, level 1 consisting of three methods, level 2 consisting of three methods and level 3 consisting of two methods. For athletic purposes I will only be covering levels 1 and 2, level 3 will come at a later time.
Level 1
The first progression in cluster training is the extended 5s method, coined by Coach Thibaudeau. The goal of the extended 5s method is for the athlete to do 10 repetitions with a weight they can only do for 5 repetitions. Obviously this is an outstanding growth stimulus, as there is an increase in both intensity and volume (85% x 10 repetitions). An extended 5s set would go like this...
The athlete takes their 5 repetitions maximum (RM) and does 5 reps and then racks the bar. Resting approx 7-12 seconds (counted out loud by a training partner or spotter), the athlete then un-racks the bar and does another 2-3 repetitions. Upon racking the bar again, another rest of 7-12 seconds is taken, and a final 2-3 repetitions are performed. The goal of the set is to get 10 repetitions total. Generally an athlete will need two to three pauses to accomplish this. The athlete rests 3-5 minutes and repeats 3-5 times. This is an excellent introductory method to cluster training! Here is a summary...
Extended 5s Method
· Load- 80-85% of 1 RM or 5 RM (repetition maximum)
· Reps- 5 Reps with 5 RM, 7-12 pause, 2-3 Reps, 7-12 pause, 2-3 Reps
· Sets- 3-5
· Rest Intervals- 3-5 Minutes
· Target Goal- 10 Repetitions with a 5 RM
The next progression in cluster training is the classic cluster method. Charles Poliquin wrote about this method in his text Modern Trends in Strength Training (2001) and Mike Mahler has written articles on this method calling it Rest-Pause Training. Regardless of the name, it is a powerful and effective method. This method is best used for increases in relative and maximal strength and hypertrophy of the type II-B muscle fibers (the ones with the most potential for force and power output). This method uses a higher intensity bracket than the extended 5s method, usually 87-92% of 1 RM and attempts to hit 5 intermitted repetitions with that load. A classic cluster set would go like this...
The athlete would take their 3-4 repetitions maximum and performs 1 rep, racks the bar, 7-12 seconds pause, 1 rep, 7-12 second pause in the rack, 1 rep, 7-12 seconds pause, 1 rep, 7-12 seconds pause, and a final 1 rep, and a 3-5 minute rest. Usually 3-5 sets are employed. Here is a summary...
Classic Cluster Method
· Load- 85-92% of 1 RM
· Reps- 5 Total Reps, intermitted, 1, pause, 1, pause, 1, pause, etc.
· Sets- 3-5
· Rest Intervals- 3-5 Minutes
· Target Goal- 5 Repetitions with a 3-4 RM
The last progression in level 1 is the antagonist cluster method. This is basically a variation of the classic cluster method, with the exception being that the athlete alternates between to opposing exercises with minimal rest (the pause is taken by the opposing exercise being performed). Reps and sets still apply, however the execution of a set is a little different...
The athlete would take their 3-4 repetitions maximum and performs 1 rep of bench press, racks the bar, proceeds to do 1 rep of bent over barbell rows, 1 rep on the bench press, 1 rep of the row, 1 rep bench press, 1 rep of the row, 1 rep on the bench, 1 rep on the row, and a final 1 rep on the bench, and 1 final rep of the row and a 3-5 minute rest. Usually 3-5 sets are employed. Here is a summary...
Antagonist Cluster Method
· Load- 85-92% of 1 RM
· Reps- 5 Total Reps each antagonist exercise, 1 Rep Exercise 1, 1 Rep Exercise 2, etc.
· Sets- 3-5
· Rest Intervals- 3-5 Minutes
· Target Goal- 5 Repetitions with a 3-4 RM on two opposing exercises
· For those who need to know antagonists, examples would be horizontal push and horizontal pull (bench and row), vertical push and vertical pull (shoulder press and chin up), quad dominant and hip dominant (squat and good morning), arms (curl and triceps extensions).
Level 2
It goes without saying that a foundation of cluster training should have been built in the previous level prior to taking on the more advanced methods here!
The first progression of the second level is named after the late Mike Mentzer, a highly successful bodybuilder. I first learned the Mentzer cluster method through Coach Thibaudeau's excellent DVD on cluster training, and I continued to research it by reading Weight Training the Mike Mentzer Way. This is a very powerful method and should not be taken lightly. The goal of this method is to perform 4 to 5 total reps at 100-80% intensity. First the athlete will perform 2-3 singles in classic cluster fashion at 90-100% intensity and drop the weight approx 10% and perform another 1-2 repetitions with that weight in classic cluster fashion. For example...
The athlete takes 98% of their 1 RM and does 1 rep, racks the bar, 7-12 seconds pause, another 1 rep, 7-12 seconds pause, another 1 rep, 7-12 seconds pause, the spotter reduces the weight (in 7-12 seconds) and the athlete performs 1 more rep with this weight. Here is a summary...
Mentzer Cluster Method
· Load- 90-98% of 1 RM
· Reps- 4-5 Total Reps, intermitted, 1, pause, 1, pause, 1, pause, reduce weight 10%, 1 Rep
· Sets- 3-5
· Rest Intervals- 3-5 Minutes
· Target Goal- 4-5 Repetitions with a 1-3 RM
The second progression is called the drop set cluster. This is a blend of the classic cluster method and the Mentzer cluster method. Most trainees know what a drop set is, a descending scheme of dropping weight after performing some repetitions. The drop set cluster still uses high intensity (90-100%) and drops the weight 5-10 lbs per drop on single repetitions. Again 5 reps are the target goal. An example being...
The athlete does 1 rep with 98-100% intensity, racks the bar, and the training partner or spotters remove 5-10 lbs from the bar during the 7-12 seconds pause, the athlete does another single, Racks the bar, the spotters proceed to strip 5-10 lbs, athlete performs another single, racks the bar and more weight is stripped, athlete does another rep, racks and spotters reduce weight further, and athlete completes last rep. The drop set cluster allows a higher level of muscular tension, due to the repetition's slow speed and the rep is being performed at 100% maximal momentary strength (i.e. all muscle fibers are being recruited to lift the load) (Poliquin, Modern Trends in Strength Training, 18-19). A summary can be found here...
Drop Set Cluster Method
· Load- 90-100% of 1 RM
· Reps- 5 Total Reps, intermitted, 1, pause lower weight 5-10 lbs, 1, pause lower weight 5-10 lbs, 1, pause lower weight 5-10 lbs, 1 Rep, pause lower weight 5-10 lbs, 1 Rep, pause lower weight.
· Sets- 3-5
· Rest Intervals- 3-5 Minutes
· Target Goal- 5 Repetitions with a 1-3 RM
The final progression in level 2 is called the accentuated eccentric cluster method. Caution: this method will require a competent spotter! As you might know, I do like to accentuate the eccentric portion of an exercise (see Eccentric Training for Athletes article). This method combines the classic cluster method with an accentuated eccentric portion of the lift. Again, the set and rep scheme stays close to the classic cluster method, however during the eccentric or lowering portion of the exercise, the training partner will push down on the bar and release at the mid point. This requires a very skilled spotter! They should only apply enough resistance to have the athlete still lower the bar under control! If the bar is dropping like a bag of bricks, it is not helping the athlete it is hurting them! Here is an example...
The athlete would take their 3-4 repetitions maximum and performs 1 rep with the training partner applying pressure to the bar in the lowering portion, racks the bar, 7-12 seconds pause, 1 rep with the training partner applying pressure to the bar in the lowering portion, 7-12 second pause in the rack, 1 rep with the training partner applying pressure to the bar in the lowering portion, 7-12 seconds pause, 1 rep with the training partner applying pressure to the bar in the lowering portion, 7-12 seconds pause, and a final 1 rep with the training partner applying pressure to the bar in the lowering portion, and a 3-5 minute rest. Usually 3-5 sets are employed. Here is a summary...
Classic Cluster Method
· Load- 85-92% of 1 RM
· Reps- 5 Total Reps, intermitted, 1 with the training partner applying pressure to the bar in the lowering portion, pause, 1 with the training partner applying pressure to the bar in the lowering portion, pause, 1 with the training partner applying pressure to the bar in the lowering portion, pause, etc.
· Sets- 3-5
· Rest Intervals- 3-5 Minutes
· Target Goal- 5 Repetitions with a 3-4 RM
Advantages for the Athlete
In his Modern Trends in Strength Training (2001) text Charles Poliquin points out the advantages of using cluster training for athletes, this is what he wrote...
· A higher total number of repetitions with a higher mean intensity in the same amount of time as classic strength or neural based training
· Increased total training time under tension for the high-threshold fast-twitch fibers; a prerequisite for reaching hypertrophy of these selected fibers. This may seem contradictory to the concept of relative strength, but hypertrophy can be beneficial if it is done in the right motor units.
· Higher force/lower velocities repetitions-a prerequisite for inducing maximal strength gains.
Putting it together
Cluster training is without a doubt a growth and strength stimulus. But how do you incorporate it into a plan? Clusters should not be used for more than 3-4 weeks, or else the method will become stale and your body will have adapted to the method anyway. So the method must be integrated into a yearly plan or at least a periodized cycle.
If an athlete or coach utilizes a conjugate method approach, cluster training would fall into the plan as a Maximal Effort Method, due to its use of high loads. So one would essentially use it like this...
Max Effort Day
ME- Classic Cluster Method
Assistance work done using classic hypertrophy methods (2-4 x 8-12)
If the athlete or coach decides to utilize linear periodization, cluster training would fall within the Strength Phase bracket and each movement would be given the cluster training method.
Strength Phase
Day 1- Horizontal Push/Pull
Bench Press- Classic Cluster Method
Bent Over Barbell Row- Classic Cluster Method
If the athlete or coach is utilizing undulating periodization (i.e. rotating between various strength methods by weeks with a training cycle) cluster training could be used for maximal strength work.
Strength Weeks
Week 1 and 5
Day 1- Horizontal Push/Pull
Day 2- Hips Dominant/Quad Dominant
Day 3- Vertical Push/Pull
1 Exercise per Movement Group-
Classic Cluster Method
Cluster training is very versatile, and athletes can benefit from this method by increasing both strength and size. However, like any other training tool, this one should only be used in moderation due to the intense fatiguing effect it has on the Central Nervous System. Also this method requires competent spotters, a luxury some do not have.
Cluster training done properly can help to jump start new growth or new strength adaptations in athletes. It can also increase all ready existing levels of size and strength. Any athlete (with the proper foundation) can benefit from this style of training! Good luck implementing this method in your and your athlete's training!

Small Bulldozers For Sale
Sometimes, a little bit of muscle is all you need. If that's the case, then perhaps a small bulldozer is all you really need. Now, when you say small bulldozer, I'm assuming your not actually looking for a skid steer or a bobcat. Since those are really different machines. Mind you, they can do some of the same stuff, just not on the same scale as a real bulldozer, even if it is a small one. When I say small, I'm thinking of a d2, d3, or d4 Caterpillar sized bulldozer. That's still a pretty good sized machine, great for clearing trees or piles of dirt and wood from the farm.
You'd be surprised at some of the great prices you can get these for during the tough economic times, if you look around a bit. As long as the dozer has been maintained well, you should get quite a few good years out of even a used machine. That said, you may want to hedge your bet by sticking with the more reliable brand names when you buy. Caterpillar is likely the best know, and uses the same technology for it's big industrial strength dozers, as it does for it's smaller ones, so you should be safe with them.
Forsale
Other good manufacturers to consider, are Case, New Holland, Komatsu, John Deere, and Liebherr. They all produce good dozers. If you can, ask for a maintenance log, used by the previous owner of the machine. First of all, if they have a maintenance log, that's a very good sign. It suggests that they were doing at least minimum upkeep on their dozer. Secondly, it should give you a pretty good idea of what you'll need to do to keep your little dozer running.

Bulldozers For Sale
A Bulldozer Buying Guide
Bulldozers are the ultimate tool for heavy construction and demolition work. With their unbeatable traction on every imaginable surface, bulldozers are great for moving unwanted materials, grading, or knocking down buildings. You can get a bulldozer in a wide variety of sizes for whatever job you have in mind. As little as 40, or as many as 400 horses are available. This range of power should be sufficient for the smallest budget, up to the largest job. Bulldozers combine strength with agility and versatility. Their track drive systems, combined with an evenly distributed weight design allow dozers to go wherever their needed, and take their power with them.
Forsale
Size and power is not everything, when it comes to getting the right dozer for your job. Buying a dozer that's too big to get around your job site is not a good idea either. Blade size and type are important factors to consider when making your purchase decision. Clearing debris, grading roads, and knocking down derelict buildings are different jobs that require different blades.
Choosing the correct brand of dozer can be a challenge as well. There are several good bulldozer manufacturers to consider, such as Komatsu , Caterpillar, New Holland, Rayco, John Deere, Liebherr, and Case. Each of these makers have several models worth considering.
For smaller horsepower jobs, New Holland has the D75, D85, and D95 dozers that range from 75 to 95 horsepower. Komatsu D31EX/PX-21, D39EX/PX-21m and D37EX/PX-21 come with some nice electronic controls. The ever popular Caterpillar are always good machines to consider, especially the D89T, and the D2 models.

How To Find REAL Wholesale Dropshippers For Almost Any Product
With more and more people getting online, many of them are searching
for information on specific products that they are interested in
purchasing.
Thus one of the best possible ways to turn a profit online is
to find wholesale sources that will drop-ship thes products directly
to your customers who come to your website for more informatation.
Also you could set up ebay auctions to sell these products.
Fendi
BUT....
Most of the wholesale sources ebooks, list of 10,000 drop shippers
etc. that you see being offered online just don't cut it. Either
they are full of links that lead to websites that are no longer
active, lead you to wholesalers who carry junk products (dollar store
items, as seen on TV stuff), or the price are too high for you to
make any profits.
Actually most of the time the so called wholesale sources you find
in these ebooks and lists are nothing more than middle men. They
are buying from the real wholesalers and then reselling the products
to you at a marked up price so they will make a profit.
But what if you could cut out the middle men and find real wholesalers
of brand name products at prices that will be profitable for you.
Well you can do this but it won't happen by depending on those outdated
ebooks and drop shippers list.
You need to find these sources your self. It could be as simple as
finding a porduct manufaturer or supplier and simply asking them if
they can drop ship the product directly to your customers. Some times
you may have to negotiate a deal to get them to drop ship for you.
Either way you'll make more money because you can get the in demand
brand name products you want at a good price.
So how do you find wholesale suppliers?
Just use the links below and you'll be able to find plenty of wholesale
sources that will drop ship for you, some of them in your own back yard.

type in "Wholesale" along with selecting your state from the drop down
box. You can also do a nation wide search.
http://www.surplus.net - This website lists lost of overstock and

Theres lot products listed here and sometimes you can get 50%-80% of
the wholesale price.

http://www.wholesalecentral.com
http://www.andale.com - You can search for products here and it will
tell you the average selling price for of particular type of item
based on what is selling on ebay.
NOTES:
Always get a sample of the product you want to sell before you
actually start selling it to your customers. You need to inspect
the quality of the merchandise and make sure that your wholesale
supplier is actually selling the item or brand name that they say
they are.
This can be easily accomplished if your supplier sells individual
items.
If you supplier only sells in bulk try to get them to send you a
sample. If they won't do this they may not be a company that you want
to deal with especially if they are located overseas.
And never pay for your items by wire transfer, if you supplier ask
you to do this it is just best that you walk away because wire transfers
are not traceable and if your supplier isn't trust worthy you will not
be able to get your money back.

Find a Carrier Company Just By the Phone Number
It may seem like an impossible thing to discover, however, finding a phone carrier by using only a telephone number is absolutely possible. The trick is simply to find the right service to do it for you online.
There are usually two kinds of phone carrier search services. There are some that allow you to search for carriers using a cellular number, and those that allow you to search using a land line telephone number.
Fendi
It is much easier and more reliable to discover a carrier using a land line telephone number. When using a land line telephone number, it is usually as simple as typing in the number, and obtaining your result. In the case of cellular numbers, there is frequently a delay after the phone number was first registered, and not all sites list all numbers. Furthermore, now that number portability exists, it is common for numbers to have been transferred to different carriers without registering that way on the reverse phone carrier searches.
To perform a search for a carrier by using the phone number, simply type the telephone number into the search field, and then click "search". This will bring you to another page with your results.
Typically, the search will provide you with the carrier. However, some search services will also provide you with reverse phone lookup information as well. So your search page will provide you with the carrier, the name associated with the telephone number, the address associated with the telephone number and, on occasion, even a map and directions that show you how to get there from your current location.
This information can be very beneficial for a number of reasons, if only to discover whether you have the same phone carrier as the person that you want to call so that you can use a same-carrier-only calling plan. Naturally, you may have many other reasons for wanting to know the phone carrier of a telephone number, but no matter what they may be, finding out the information you need is just that simple.

Is Your Authentic Designer Handbag Really Authentic?
So, you have just bought a new designer handbag. Maybe you have had your eye on a Christian Dior Saddle Handbag, or Gucci Jackie-O that you know your friends will drool over . You got a huge discount off of the hefty retail price and you're feeling pretty good about yourself. But now you are wondering- is my designer handbag authentic.
Determining the authenticity on any product can be a little tricky, but if you know the basics, you will be able to spot a fake in just a few seconds.
Fendi
One of the best ways to ensure your new handbag is authentic is to look at the bag itself. Designer handbags are popular and cost as much as they due because first and for-most they are made from quality materials. Take a good look at the stitching. There should be no loose or missing stitches, the color of the thread should match the main color of the bag and the stitches should be evenly spaced. If the handbag is leather, the logo should be engraved, not just printed on the leather.
Also take a look at the hardware. All of the hardware should match in color and sheen. The hardware should also be free of scratches. Many manufactures, including Gucci, Fendi and Prada, protect their hardware with a removable plastic cover that is to be removed only after it has been purchased. The brand name or logo should be engraved, not embossed or simply printed on the hardware. You can also find the brand name of logo engraved on the strap hardware on Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Chanel.
Inspect the material the bag; lining, hardware and accents are made of. Many handbags are made of different types of leather, from Lambskin, Calfskin, Goatskin and Patent Leather, but it is easy to distinguish if the leather is of a good quality or not. The lining is usually made of a satin material that has a nice shine to it and most designer handbags have the name brand name or logo on the lining. Designers almost always use leather accents, not plastic. Some purses have straps that are specially coated and seem to be artificial. However a quick look at the edge of the strap, usually near a stitched joint, should reveal a leather core.
Is there an authenticity card. An authenticity card is a little card that usually has the manufactures logo embossed on the front and has some information about the product you purchased and sometimes includes a magnetic strip, bar code. Many manufacturers, including Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Kate Spade and Coach, use these cards.
Check for a serial number. Not all manufacturers use serial numbers, but many do. The serial number for Fendi purses can be found on the inside pocket. Simply turn the pocket inside out and there will be a printed number on the fabric or possibly on the leather tag. Gucci includes a small leather tag on the zipper seam of the handbag which includes a serial number.
If you shop wisely, and inspect the bag carefully, you will be able to spot a fake from a mile away.

1967 Chevelle SS For Sale
Finding a 1967 Chevelle SS for sale is a dream that many muscle car enthusiasts hold near and dear to their hearts. While the '67 Chevelle SS is by no means a perfect car, it's a wonderful specimen that boasts enough personality to make its flaws endearing.
There were kinks present in the first several years of the Chevelle SS, particularly in the way that the car handled, and driving at top speeds exacerbated these issues. What set the 1967 Chevelle SS for sale apart from those that had come before it were the improvements in this area.
Forsale
These most basic of these changes was the upgrade from the standard rayon two-ply 7.75x14 tires to low profile F70X14s with nylon belts. Chevy also reconfigured the steering system including the wheel so that grip and steering response were dramatically improved.
The feel in the car when one changes direction, especially at high speed, is what separates the 1967 Chevelle SS most from the 1964-1966 Chevelle SSs. The designers also improved braking with the new front disc brakes that were available as an option along with the purposeful 14-inch slotted wheels that were included standard.
Enthusiasts should note that it is possible to customize the 1964-1966 Chevelle SSs to include similar handling improvements. However, the 1967 Chevelle SS provides a particular handling that one cannot easily match with a simple upgrade, and this is part of the vehicle's allure.
For the 1967 Chevelle SS for sale, Chevrolet included the same standard transmission, a 3-speed manual. However, most SS buyers opted for the 4-speed transmission, which was available at the time for an additional 5. Precise numbers of 4-speed and 3-speed sales are not available, but it does seem that the non-standard 4-speed is much more prevalent. Chevrolet also offered a 2-speed Powerglide transmission as well as a 3-speed Turbo Hydra-matic option but both of these are rare from today's perspective.
Chevrolet also included a padded instrument panel and an energy-absorbing steering column due to U.S. safety regulations that the government had enacted the year before. The dashboard was essentially the same one included with the three previous models, which is very bland compared to other muscle cars of the time. For this reason, the dashboard is one of the most popular aspects of interior customization. Chevy did offer an optional tachometer this model year, which they positioned to the left of the steering wheel.
Visually the 1967 Chevelle SS for sale was not remarkably different from the '66 model. Differences include a reworked bumper and grille that one would not notice without side-by-side comparison. Chevy also included a blackout tail panel, and despite demand for the contrary, the hood louvers remained nonfunctional.
Under the hood, Chevy once again included the 396 cubic-inch V8 engine that hammers out 325 horsepower stock. The L34 engine upgrade was still available for approximately 0, but this engine provided 10 horsepower less than the L34 offered a year earlier. This was because of a GM edict against any car other than the Corvette producing more than one horsepower per 10 pounds of curb weight. The 375-horsepower L78 engine option was still available as a dealer-installed conversion, but no longer publicized. Perhaps for that reason, Chevy sold approximately only 600 of these conversions.
With prices starting at ,800 for the coupe and ,000 for the ragtop, the Chevelle SS was only a couple hundred dollars more than other Malibu models. It's difficult to imagine how anyone passed up a 1967 Chevelle for sale back then.

Homes for Sale By Owner Land Contract Michigan
The homes for sale by owner land contract Michigan residents are able to provide to interested parties a home at an affordable price. A land contract in Michigan is often beneficial for both parties, when conducted in the correct manner.
There are a number of instances in which reputable and reliable individuals in Michigan will find themselves in financial trouble and facing a possible foreclosure on their home or land. Instead of succumbing to this problem, it is important that these individuals realize that hope does not need to be lost in these unfortunate situations.
Forsale
Even in these troubling times, there are alternatives available to these people aside from the foreclosure on their property. A land contract in Michigan can be just the thing to help these people, or anyone that is looking to sell their property quickly and without involving a mortgage company.
As a contract between the owner of the property in the state of Michigan and the buyer or purchaser of the aforementioned property, a land contract in Michigan allows the transaction to take place for a pre-determined and specified monetary amount, in exchange for the rights to the land or home. The purchaser agrees to make the decided upon payments for the property over time to the seller, who is required to hand over the physical manifestation of the deed to the property owner or purchaser when the entirety of the land contract has been paid in full.
The laws surrounding the homes for sale by owner land contract Michigan residents must adhere to are outlined in a very clear way in these instances. Possession and living rights, for all intents and purposes, are immediately available to the purchasers of the many available homes for sale by owner land contract Michigan residents have to offer. In the end, it is the title that is not turned over to the purchasers until the payments have all been made. This is what allows the sellers to maintain some collateral when they are in the process of selling their properties. Homes for sale by owner land contract Michigan laws are able to protect sellers in this way.
However, land contracts are also beneficial for interested buyers as well. For example, buyers who want to own a home but have poor or damaged credit can often work with sellers on terms. Investors, like us here, can also help educate buyers on ways to repair their credit and get them the financing they need.
Sometimes bad things happen to good people and someone who can make monthly payments and has some money to put down on a home should be able to buy one, even if the bank isn't willing to give out a loan.
he sale of the home in this specific type of contractual agreement , therefore, is able to help all involved parties. Despite the many benefits, there are a number of states that have, over the years, presented a number of problems when it comes to making the ownership of a property easy in the form of a land contract.
Homes for Sale By Owner Land Contract Michigan
However, a land contract in Michigan is a valid form of property transaction. Homes for sale by owner via land contract in Michigan bring supply to the market as options for potential buyers who would otherwise not be able to buy a home.
As long as the seller is motivated and willing to work on terms and the buyer has stable income to make monthly payments and has a bit of money for a downpayment, a win/win situation can often be structured.

Wealth and Abundance in the Bible
God is a God of abundance. There is nothing about him that smacks of insufficiency, lack or limit.
He didn't just create our planet; he created eight others that make up our solar system. That's about all our minds can naturally take it, but God has created more. Much more.
Baguette Sale
Our sun is a star. In addition to our sun there are an estimated 200 billion further stars in our Galaxy. The nearest of those stars to our solar system is called Proxima Centauri, and is about 4.3 light-years away. (By plane that would take 53 BILLION years to reach!) Some of the stars that we can see at night with the naked eye are more than 1,000 light years away. And we've only been looking at stars in our galaxy.
If the universe were a beach, then our own vast Galaxy is but just one of numerous grains of sand. NASA's Hubble Space telescope can see up to 50 million of these galaxies in our universe!
Now I say all this to make the very important point that God is a God of relentless abundance. He wasn't content with one planet, one solar system or even one galaxy, but the realm of his created order is far, far greater than the brightest human mind can comprehend.
Yet out of that abundance, when we focus on little planet Earth, we can see that God has created it with an incredible amount of wealth. There are vast natural resources that lie under the earth's surface such as minerals and oil. God gave us plants and trees that reproduce after their own kind. We have animals on the ground, birds in the air, creatures in the sea and the sun in the sky. And in all of this, God has given us the ability to use these resources to create wealth for ourselves.
So how do we see God working all this out through his people in the scriptures?
The Old Testament
Contrary to widespread belief, great people in the Bible enjoyed great wealth.
Abram was 'extremely rich' (Genesis 13:2), Jacob became "very wealthy" (Genesis 30:43) and Isaac "became a very rich man and his wealth continued to grow" (Genesis 26:13).
King David was 'a man after God's own heart' (1 Samuel 13:14) - but he was also incredibly rich. The Bible tells us in 1 Chronicles 29:3 that he gave all the gold and silver from his personal stock towards the building of the Temple (millions of pounds worth in today's terms, probably in excess of a billion)!
We revel and stand in awe of the timeless truths and incredible wisdom found in the book of Proverbs. But who wrote most of it? Only the wealthiest king to have ever lived, and will ever live, King Solomon. One time, the Queen of Sheba visited him and she was left breathless when she saw the degree of his wealth.
And when we look at the magnitude, detail, precision, costly materials and skilled labour that was put into the building of Solomon's Temple, it tells its own story of wealth, abundance and excellence.
We are not told so much detail about the prophets, but Jewish custom tells us that Isaiah came from royal stock, Jonah had enough money to finance a trip to a distant country and Jeremiah didn't appear to have any problems in buying £4,000 worth of land when God instructed him to (Jeremiah 32:9).
The New Testament
Even Jesus had a degree of wealth! Kings (probably quite a few more than the statutory three that the Christmas Carols state) brought incredibly rich gifts at his birth. Wealthy women supported him and his 12 disciples throughout their ministry.
Jesus quite rightly spoke about the trappings of riches, but he was also comfortable around wealth. He even produced it miraculously!
In his first public miracle we don't see Jesus amazing the crowds by healing the sick, raising the dead or walking on water. We see him keeping a party going by supplying extra wine! He took 135 gallon capacity containers used for ceremonial washing and turned the water in them into wine. And not any old wine, but fine wine. That's the equivalent of about 800 bottles of wine from each container - at £20 a bottle in today's value you're looking at a total of £16,000 worth of wealth created - from each container!
We can also look at when he produced a meal for the multitudes - not once, but twice! With crowds being probably around 15,000 people (writers only recorded men in those days), we see Jesus taking the young boys offering of fish and bread, blessing it, miraculously multiplying it and feeding everyone. There were even basketfuls left over! Taking the value of a tuna baguette in today's market at £1.50, we can see that Jesus created around £35,000 worth of wealth. Of course the focus of the account is that he was meeting a need and teaching a principle, but nevertheless, a huge amount of value was created. And the disciples didn't have to go and spend that money on food themselves.
And even to show that the principle of miraculous provision was not just about huge wealth, we see Jesus instructing Peter to go fishing at the rivers edge, take the first fish that bites and open its mouth. In it he would find a coin which was to be used for Jesus and Peter's temple tax (Matthew 27:17).
We can flick further through the pages of scripture to the writings of the Apostle Paul. He had enough money to go on three world trips and supported his team. He was also a tent-maker by trade (a very well-to-do business). And listen to this: the scriptures tell us that not only did Paul know what it meant to live in need, but he also "knew what it was like to have plenty" (Philippians 4:12).
What about you?
Am I saying that God want us all to be millionaires? No. Am I saying that wealth equates directly with godliness? No. Am I saying that we should all strive to be rich? No. What I am saying is that Christians are called to greatness, but unfortunately many are conformed to mediocrity. Yes there will be troubles and times of tribulation in this life, but that doesn't negate the fact that God wants us to share in his wealth. His plan is for us to prosper. He wants us to pay our bills and be out of debt. He wants us to succeed and prosper. And not just for our own sake, but for the sake of those who are in our sphere of influence.
I'm not talking here about a certain amount of money that God wants to bless you with. But with a principle that God wants to bless you according to his abundant riches, just as he blessed those who followed him obediently in the scriptures. And that blessing includes wealth (The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it. Proverbs 10:15, NIV).

Bonjoie! 7 Lessons I Learned in Paris
"April in Paris, chestnuts in blossom, holiday tables under the trees." -E. Y. Harburg
After reveling in a mountaintop experience, it often takes one a couple of days to not only regain altitude and perspective; it takes a little while to fully grasp what--exactly--just happened.
Floral Baguette
Such was our trip to France.
Escorting thirty-six young musicians to Paris for a three-concert tour proved to be an amazing experience which I cannot fully communicate in this Newsletter. My words will fall short; our pictures will miss most of it; and stories re-told with enthusiasm to eagerly awaiting family members will only reveal a glimpse of the experience. What happens when vision meets strategy, passion meets energy, and divine inspiration meets faith cannot be comprehended by those missing the mountaintop. But because it is now part of who I am, I feel moved to attempt to share it with you.
Paris was, for me anyway, the fruit of nearly fourteen years of musical training in my kids. And it found my heart bursting with joy as I celebrated it. After listening to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" played mostly with less-than-perfect intonation upwards of ten thousand times; of the foot-stomping, the eyeball-rolling, and the 'I hate the violin' when my children were too irritable to practice; of the 90-minute roundtrip weekly drives to Westport for lessons: watching not only my own Ben and Cristina, but the orchestra kids aged twelve to eighteen, perform Beethoven's "Fifth" and Barber's "Adagio for Strings" in a medieval cathedral in the center of Paris left me ebullient. Tears stained my cheeks as the music moved and carried my soul to a height previously unimagined. Friendships forged with the most unsuspecting partners, as commonalities were uncovered and shared. Barriers erected by political divisions, theological differences, and ideological disparities collapsed under the international love language of music.
It was an extraordinary experience, and I learned a few lessons along the way:
1) We stand on tall shoulders of the spiritual giants who lived before us. When one visits a city with cathedrals still standing after the frenzy of the Crusades and the numerous battles fought there, one realizes the magnitude of the spiritual convictions of those who came before us. Studying the Chartres Cathedral--and walking the halls of La Trinite and the Magdalena Cathedrals where our children performed--allowed me not only the luxury of admiring stained glass windows depicting prominent Biblical themes; it allowed me to ruminate on the vision, inspiration and dedication with which they were crafted. In earlier times in Paris, religion was not a part of life. It was life.
2) Art, music and literature are necessary components for creating a life worth living. As are good shoes, good mattresses, and good books necessary elements of every childhood; good art, good music, and good literature provide needed nourishment for the soul. Wandering through the rooms of the Louvre--and my favorite museum in Paris, the Musee D'Orsay--gave me even greater appreciation for the importance of fabulous art. They don't call these guys masters for nothing. I am convinced that the world would be both safer and happier if everyone learned to paint, played a musical instrument or sang in a choir, and read classical literature on a daily basis. Music remains the universal language of the heart; anyone who does not understand this had better start listening to Mozart.
3) Celebrate serendipity. Already a lesson explored in both my book as well as in earlier Newsletters, it is worth repeating here, as I witnessed, embraced and practiced what I preach. Most of you may know by now that I have an inordinate amount of passion for the color lime-green (or illness, depending on your perspective). It was pure serendipity that, while walking down a Parisian street in search of French ceramics and candles, we stumbled upon a lime-green sofa setting against a bricked store wall. I started laughing hysterically. Where but in Paris would I find a lime-green sofa in the middle of the street? I promptly sat down in it, reveled in the experience, and allowed it to be captured in film. It was serendipity that, while walking around a tony shopping district, I was grabbed from behind, only to find a Parisian lady who spoke no English attempt to communicate to me that her surname was "La Coq" and could I please tell her where she could buy the Vera Bradley backpack I wore which sported roosters and eggs? I happily told her--in English--that it was no longer available but sign-languaged her to get out a paper and pen so I could write down the internet site where she might have some luck. The serendipity of that encounter still makes me smile. Perhaps it was serendipity that our tour guide was darn near perfect; that our flights were uneventful; that our hotel was perfectly situated; and that the Parisian orchestra, which played in a joint concert with us, was well-prepared and delightful. Serendipity or angels watching over us: we celebrated each and every tiny victory.
4) Food plays a huge role in the celebration of life. To be French means to have a passion for all things related to food. They unapologetically indulge in the culinary arts and enjoy all of its inherent stress-relieving side benefits on a thrice-daily basis. They endorse a 'live to eat' rather than an 'eat to live' M.O. And it shows. "Take-out coffee" is an oxymoron. It simply does not exist in France. Coffee is meant to be drunk sitting down, preferably with a friend or two, along with a baguette or a sugar-or-chocolate-filled crepe as well. While French women may not get fat, American women visiting France just might. I embraced the French dining philosophy for eight days and came back with more "wiggle in my waddle," if you know what I mean. Que sara sara (or is that Spanish?)
5) Charm and charisma still work. They are not overrated. From the hotel staff to Parisian waiters to the clerk at the Ralph Lauren store: all met our needs with grace and charm. When an unsuspecting yet magnificent floral arrangement brought a constant tickle to my throat, the "Polo clerk" ordered up a glass of water for me. It was delivered on a cloth napkin atop a silver tray. (When was the last time that happened to you stateside?) When our orchestra met up with the community orchestra for a joint concert, we were--every one of us--enthralled by its Parisian conductor, Sylvan. Young and vibrant, he exuded charm with his humility and gracious behavior toward us; the hot pink tie against his otherwise all-black "uniform" proved once again, the magic of charisma.
6) "Bonjour" means something. The French refuse to start a conversation without it. Once, when I barged into my explanation of needing several Eiffel Tower charms for bracelets without the mandatory "Bonjour" opening, the store clerk stopped me mid-sentence, interrupting my banter with "Bonjour, Madame, how can I help you?" How wonderful to be reminded at every turn that today is, indeed, a good day!
7) "Bonjoie" means even more. Late on the second night of our trip, bubbling with energy and excitement after traveling to the top of the Eiffel Tower, I accidentally said "Bonjoie" (jwahr) rather than "Bonsoir" (swahr). Sarah, the perfectly-fluent chaperone to which I directed this mis-step, proclaimed: "Happy joy of life to you, too!" Giggling my way up the escalator to my hotel room, I didn't quite realize the extent of my error. But the next morning on the bus, everyone greeted me with "Bonjoie." And so it stuck. It became our password for life in April in Paris. I can think of none better.
Our children shone like sugar-coated gumdrops sprinkled around the streets of Paris, dotting major landmarks and sweetening each and every meal. I was thrilled and honored to have been part of an event of such historic significance for our young and tiny youth orchestra. They were goodwill ambassadors for our symphony, our town, and our country. Never have I been more proud as a music lover, a parent, and as an American. Perhaps my experience sheds some insight on how you, too, can celebrate life.

What to Do When Your Dog Or Cat Won't Eat
Your dog won't eat. Or your cat is a picky eater. So what on earth do you do?
First, a caveat. No animal will willingly starve itself. But ALWAYS have your pet seen by a vet when there's a change in behavior. You need to rule out illness before embarking on solving a pet's eating problem. Be sure to check for a bad tooth as this is often overlooked as a cause of eating issues. The second caveat: Eating problems can be complex and the tips offered here are simplistic. I offer them with 30 years of experience as a dog owner, breeder, handler and fancier in the world of dogs, but you should discuss them with your vet to see if any are a plausible remedy for your pet's situation.
We'll start with dogs, and assuming that your dog is healthy but not a good eater, here are some potential reasons why and ideas for fixing it.
If you feed your dog treats during the day, stop. You want your dog hungry at meal times. If your dog is a show dog, remember that bait should be offered in TINY pieces, it's not meant to be dinner. When it comes to meals, put the dog's food bowl on the floor, give her 10 minutes to eat it, and if it isn't touched, pick it up and put it away. Don't feed again until the next meal, and resist the temptation to give treats. Do this for a whole week because what you're doing here is behavior modification. Remember, a healthy dog won't starve itself to death, but a stubborn, healthy dog could modify YOUR behavior if you cave in.
If you change pet foods frequently, stop. Frequent diet changes can create a finicky eater. The dog learns to "holdout" to see what will be offered next. When you find a nutritious diet your pet will eat, stay with it. If you MUST change the pet's diet, do it gradually over a two week period. Add a small amount of the new diet to the old food, and each day, increase the amount of the new feed while decreasing the amount of the current food. This gradual change will help prevent diarrhea, vomiting and finicky eating.
With picky eaters, it's important to feed a "super premium" brand of dog food. These foods cost a little more and are made with better ingredients, but they are nutritionally dense. This means that your dog is actually eating less in quantity than the cheaper brands bought at grocery stores (these foods have the nutritional value of bark), but because there are more "calories per cup" in a premium food, they're actually getting more nutrition. Look for brands such as Merrick's "Grammy's Pot Pie" (canned food), California Natural, Prarie, Canidae, Flint River, Nutro, Wellness, Eagle Pack Holistic or Nutrisource.
Mixing kibble with a small amount of canned dog food and water will also make it enticing. This next part is important: The single most natural way to increase a pet's appetite is to warm their food because it increases the smell and makes it more appetizing.
Perhaps your dog has a health issue or is on a medication that makes him not want to eat. She's under a vet's care, but the task of getting nutrition into her falls on you. Now what? First, understand that the less a dog eats, the less he WANTS to eat. Add to that the dog who comes to associate food with nausea and you have a real problem, so the sooner you can get your dog to WANT to eat on his own, the better. So much for the obvious.
We'll start with the simplest remedies and work our way up to a radical solution that worked for one of my dogs. Assuming that your dog is on a high quality feed but still not eating, you may need to go to the next step: making dog food taste even better.
You don't want to make these next foods a daily staple, mostly because the high sodium content of many of them would be contra-indicated for dogs in renal failure or with heart issues (if your dog does have kidney issues, check out a really informative web site here.) The following foods have been tried and tested by people in the dog fancy and are suggested ONLY as a means to jump start the appetite in a sick or compromised dog: Sardines, canned cat food, Gerber's baby food - especially turkey or sweet potato, braunschweiger, Limburger Cheese, broth, pureed liver, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, yogurt, cottage cheese/cream cheese, canned mackerel, scrambled eggs with cream cheese, chicken noodle soup - and even this one: hard-boiled eggs smashed up in French Vanilla yogurt, slightly warmed.
Sometimes, you may need to "jump start" an appetite with something so enticing, it's irresistible. Here is the original recipe for "Satin Balls," one of the most requested recipes on Wellpet, Showdogs-L, VetMed, and other popular e-mail lists for serious dog people:
10 pounds of cheap hamburger meat
1 lg. box of Total cereal
1 lg. box oatmeal
1 jar of wheat germ
1 1/4 cup veg oil
1 1/4 cup of unsulfured molasses
10 raw eggs AND shells
10 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
pinch of salt
Mix all ingredients together, much like you would a meatloaf. Divide the batch into 10 quart freezer bags and freeze.Thaw as needed and feed raw! (This is also a good way to put weight on a skinny dog, increase energy, and to alleviate itchy, flaky skin). This isn't a substitute for meals, it's meant to whet a dog's appetite. If the dog is eating this eagerly, start mixing it with kibble gradually. The idea is to wean them off the Satin Balls and onto kibble.
Next, we move on to "fixes" that come in a tube or pill. Remember that the point of these products is to stimulate an appetite and are not long term solutions; We start with Re-Vita whose products are said to be effective for problem appetites; "Pet-Tinic" is a liquid dietary supplement containing iron, copper and 5 essential vitamins. The palable meat-flavored liquid is readily accepted and one "tester" reported that it brought back her pet's appetite almost immediately, Because of its contents, you'll want to have your vet's approval before using this. "Nutri-Cal" is pure nutrition that squeezes out like toothpaste; dogs like its taste and it's a quick way to get nutrition into a dog. When diluted with water, Dyne High Calorie Dietary Supplement can be used to combat dehydration and provide energy because each ounce provides approximately 150 calories containing vitamins and minerals that maintain constant therapeutic blood levels.
If none of the aforementioned tips work, this is where I get pretty serious because my own philosophy is that a lack of appetite is a lousy reason for a dog to die. What you'll read next isn't pleasant - but if you love your dog, you have to get nutrition into her. As far as I know, there are four ways to do this when the dog can't eat on his own: syringe food into the dog's mouth, stuff food down the dog's throat, hook the dog up to an IV, or insert a stomach tube. I've done all of them at one time or another. And they all stink, but they're preferable to the alternative: a dog who wastes away and dies.
Syringing: You'll need a couple of large syringes from your vet. Using canned food; determine the amount your dog needs to sustain his weight, divide that amount in half and spoon that much into a blender (you and this blender will become inseparable over the coming days). Add enough warm water to blend easily into a very fine puree and for each meal, gently syringe the puree into the side of the dog's lips. Or, you can cut to the chase. Pry the dog's mouth open and squeeze the syringe plunger down so that the food trickles to the side and back of the dog's mouth. It takes a bit of time to get the hang of this since you don't want the dog to aspirate food into his lungs. Speak to the dog soothingly and praise him when you're done. Remember, it's not the dog's fault he's unable to eat and it's only temporary until the appetite comes back.
Stuffing: This was my least favorite means of getting food into a dog. It was messy and degrading. In a nutshell, you make "food bombs" that are narrow enough to slide down the back of the dog's throat. These "bombs" are a mixture of wet & dry food that's been pureed into a texture that allows shaping. There are folks out there who are really good at doing this - and some dogs who just don't eat well become so used to eating this way that they'll stand calmly, lift up their little heads and open their mouths like guppies in anticipation for the next "bomb." Since all we care about is getting nutrition into the dog, if this works for you, that's what counts.
IV: A "no brainer." At this point, a dog is so ill that this is pretty much the last resort. It's no substitute for the calories gotten from real food, but sometimes it serves as a band-aid until the dog is back on its feet and able to eat the real thing.
Stomach tube: Proverbially speaking, this is what separates the men from the boys. When I was faced with a dog whose heart medication caused anorexia but who was otherwise healthy, I had but little choice to pull out all the stops. Syringe feeding, food bombs - these were not long term solutions. Guided by my vet, we made an informed decision to insert a stomach tube. Mind you, at the time we thought it would be a short term fix until my dog ate on his own. Keep reading.
The first tube put in was an ugly, brown rubber tube that was SO long, it had to be wrapped around my dog's mid section and secured with a lady's tube top when not in use. I prepared the food as if I was going to syringe it into my dog's mouth, only it was syringed into a tube that had been inserted into his side over the stomach. In less than a week, the dog knew the sound of the blender, knew what was coming and would lie down on his side in preparation for his meal.
Each day before I approached the blender, I always offered the dog his meal in a bowl since it was my fondest desire that the dog eat like a dog. After many weeks, however, I knew this wasn't going to happen. Ever. At this point, my vet and I had a frank discussion about options and he mentioned a permanent tube, one inserted from the inside out. The "Bard" was a gastronomy device made of silicon that was successfully used to feed disabled children but had never been used in canines. My nearly 14 year old Puli would be the first dog to have the slick silicon "button" inserted. It fit flush against his stomach and a little "lid" flicked open like the flip-top portion of a tube of toothpaste. Compared to what I had been working with, it was a Porsche compared to an Edsel and no one else ever knew it was there.
The tube enabled my dog to live a couple of more years. Feeding him took less than five minutes and afterwards, he would run with the other dogs, bark into the wind, enjoy the sun on his back and know that I adored him. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Because of the seemingly radical step we took to ensure this dog's survival, it wasn't something I discussed openly. Too many people out there feel that if a dog can't eat on his own, he's not meant to live. To them I say, "Phooey." The dog wanted to live, to survive and feel the hand of those who loved him rubbing his ears. But he couldn't eat. His spirit was willing and he would have done anything to please me, but this one thing he couldn't do. How then, was I to deny him the one thing I could do to help him?
Cats: Needless to say, cats are not like dogs. They can get liver damage from not eating even for just a day or two. When a cat stops eating, their body will start to use its fat stores as fuel. The old fat stores are mobilized to the liver, which should begin fat burning. But when the fat arrives at the liver, the liver doesn't burn the fat efficiently and it accumulates in the liver.
The resulting liver disorder is known as "hepatic lipidosis", or "fatty liver disease." This condition may be suggested when blood tests show impaired liver function. Getting fatty liver disease is not isolated only to cats, and fasting cats don't always get this condition, they just seem more prone to it when they don't eat.
But according to the Cornell Online Consultant, there are 454 more possible Diagnoses for Feline Anorexia. Wow. A good web site you can visit here explains the different reasons a cat might not be eating, from acid stomach to ulcers and including fatty liver disease. The bottom line, however,is that you have less "wiggle room" when a cat won't eat. Tries these tips:
-Warm the food because warmed food has a stronger smell which will make a cat want to eat.
-Handfeeding: Sit with your cat and talk to her. Offer a little piece of food to her.
-Offer special treats like canned or pouched food instead of dry kibble.
-Offer tuna and cheese or milk or cream, all in small amounts.
-Tasty liquids, like water from tuna packed in water or, rarely, oil. Avoid tuna packed in vegetable broth as itmay contain onions. Try clam juice or low-salt chicken broth. Avoid onions and anything made with bouillan as it's too salty;
-Sprinkle some catnip on the food.
Pull out all the stops and make some Home Made Cat Food with this recipe:
Switch off the protein sources with each batch or two. Switch between:
- Half Pound of minced boneless chicken breast or thigh
- Six Ounces of dark-mean ground turkey or minced turkey
- Half Pound of lean, minced beef
- Half Pound of minced beef, chicken or turkey heart. About three times a week, include one chopped hard-boiled or scrambled egg. Occasionally substitute a five-ounce can of salmon or tuna for the meat. Avoid canned salmon or tuna for cats that are prone to urinary tract infections.
Mix foods together.
There are some drugs that can help stimulate a cat's appetite including Diazepam (Valium). Other drugs to ask your vet about are Periactin (generic name Cyproheptadine), Serax (generic name Oxazepam) and Dalmane (generic name Flurazepam). All have potential side effects so it's important to talk with your vet.
Syringe feeding and feeding tubes as mentioned in the section for dogs is also an option for cats.
Good luck and know that you're not alone. Feeding issues are among the most frustrating of concerns.
